Pinterest, launched in 2010, is rather like a virtual pin board.  It provides a way for you to “bookmark” images, illustrations photos and videos  that you want to come back to and/or share with others.

It is an image-based social site, so if a site impresses you, you can look for a representative image to pin.  You can also search for images that are already on Pinterest and add them to your home feed by re-pinning. It constitutes a form of viral sharing.

BUT this platform is much more than just a way to share images with others, as internet marketers and people in business have rapidly been discovering.
